Idemili

 Idemili is a primary Alusi (tutelary spirit) of the Idemili (Igbo) people of Southern Nigeria. She inhabits the Idemili River flowing through the region.   She is the goddess of the python and of pregnant women, mothers, and infants. Her symbol is a white cloth or rock pythons that live in and around the Idemili River).  The Central African Rock Python (Python sebae), Africa's largest snake species and one of the world's largest, has most recently been assessed for The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species in 2019 and is listed as Near Threatened.
